Pastor Andrew Paek, an ordained minister of the United Methodist Church and a native of Korea, has been serving in full time ministry for thirteen years. Prior to coming to Changewater UMC, he served various congregations including St. Johns UMC in Hazlet, First UMC in Belmar, Bernardsville UMC, and Appenzeller Nairi UMC.

 Pastor Paek has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Nyack College, Master of Divinity degree from Drew University. Though Pastor Paek has extensive biblical and theological training, it is his desire that the triune God be glorified in all that he does. One of his favorite sayings is “it’s the message, not the messenger that has the power for salvation.” Pastor Paek truly believes that the gospel of Jesus Christ is the “power of God for salvation to all who believe (Romans 1:16-17).” 

 Pastor Paek is happily married to Jeanne Paek who is a church musician and Julliard graduate. He and Jeanne, his wife of 25 years, are proud parents of two wonderful children, Esther and Tim. Esther, who is 24, works and resides in San Francisco. Tim, who is a junior, attends the University of Nebraska, Lincoln with major in music (cello).

 After hearing and accepting the call of God upon his life, Pastor Paek concentrates his efforts to be a servant to God’s people. His ministry is about empowering others, including children and youth. His vision is to equip and empower the people of God to exercise their God given ministries. He has a desire to see people transcend the limitations of the flesh and be all that God calls them to be through their service to the Lord. He also desires to move people towards Christian maturity through worship, prayer, Bible study, and service. 

 Pastor Paek has dedicated his life to proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Day by day, he strives to live by his favorite passage, Matthew 6:33 that says, “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you,” which enables us to “walk by faith, not by sight.” In continual prayer and supplication to the Lord, Pastor Paek and his wife, Jeanne, seek wisdom, knowledge and understanding from God to fulfill the calling that has been placed upon their hearts.
