PARISH HAPPENINGS
Summerfield UMC - is leading worship 2 times a month on the first and third Sundays at 11:00 AM at "Chelsea Assisted Living in White Township." Pastor Barbara Hoffman will lead a Bible Discussion Group at Chelsea starting on October 8, 2009. It will be held on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month at 11:00 AM.
Mission Honduras - The Young Adult Ministry of the Bloomsbury and Asbury UMC's held 2 "Delicately Used" clothing sales as well as a Fabric for Cash drive. The filled Asbury basement contained over 5,000 pounds of items. The parish churches, as well as the Clinton UMC helped make this drive a success. Thanks to all our donators. As a Fundraiser, the Bloomsbury Asbury UMC's have compiled a cookbook that they are offering to you. If interested, please order through Reverend Gina Yeske, 580 Ludlow Station Rd., Asbury, NJ 08802. Use the order form in our bulletin or give name, address, phone number, email address, quantity, and payment. Pre-Order Cookbooks will be $15.00 (Deadline Sept. 28th), Orders after that will be $18.00). All proceeds go to help serve the UMC in Honduras.
The Wine Cellar - Bloomsbury and Asbury UM Churches have come together to launch a new aspect of their "Young Adult Ministry" - "The Wine Cellar". In the past few months, the "cellar" of the Asbury Church has been transformed into a high tech, low key, comfortable space. It will be used for worship, conversation, Bible studies, and small groups. The ministry's purpose is to draw young Christians, and their un-churched friends into a welcoming space where they feel they belong. It will be their mission to offer them abundant hospitality and grace. It is open to all young adults. To learn more, leave a message at (908) 479-4528. The first worship service will be late October or early November....Pastor Gina.
The Cooperative Parish agreed to support "Hope in the Hills" with $50 added to the collection from the Parish Picnic, plus collections from Ash Wednesday, Holy Thursday and Good Friday services. It would also be our Advent Project. A basket will be put out at each of the Parish meetings for those who would want to donate to the project.
