The Francis Asbury Parish is a shared ministry of 10 United Methodist churches in our area. Below is a listing of some of those events that we all participate in.

May 20, 2013- Monday, May 20, Hospice Memorial Service at the Washington UMC at 7:00PM
May 30 through June 1, 2013 - Thursday through Sat. - Greater NJ Annual Conference - at Wildwood NJ. Please Keep all representatives both clergy and laity in your prayers as they conduct the business of the Conference.
June 2, 2013 - Sunday - Hospice Memorial Service - at the Washington UMC at 7:00PM.
June 8, 2013 - Saturday - Summerfield UMC - Strawberry Festival - from 3:30 to 7:00pm. (A ham dinner with Strawberry desserts.
June 9, 2013 - Sunday - CHANGEWATER UMC STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL - from 12:00 Noon until 5:30PM. Picnic type foods, (BBQ, hot dogs, potato salad, baked beans, etc. Strawberries, cake and ice cream dessert.) Prices a'la carte. A Bake Table. will have lots of goodies to purchase. Makes a great family day!

Change the World Weekend - May 18 - 19, 2013. A global movement of United Methodists doing what they can do to improve lives and community. Pastor Jean of the Washington UMC recommended that this year we work together as a parish to witness to the communities in our area, combining information and output. Supplies to assemble "Health Kits" for Hurricane Sandy clean-up will be collected at Parish churches. Those interested in volunteering can also go online at: www.afuturewithhope.org.

The Third Saturday of the month - A Free Community Lunch is always held at the Washington UMC and is served from 11 AM to 1 PM. Soup, sandwich, dessert and beverage are served. Come and share a light lunch and a time of fellowship. All are welcome!

Below are listed the items needed to fill Cleaning Buckets:
5-gallon bucket with resealable lid - Buckets from fast food restaurants or bakeries can be used if washed and cleaned. Do not use buckets that have stored chemicals such as paint or pool cleaner. Bucket can have advertisements on it.
Liquid laundry detergent - (two 25 oz. or one 50 oz. bottles only)
Liquid household cleaner - 12 - 16 oz. liquid cleaner that can be mixed with water (no spray cleaners.
Dish soap - 16 to 28 oz. bottle, any brand
1 can air freshener - aerosol or pump
1 insect repellant spray - 6 - 14 oz. aerosol spray pump
1 scrub brush - plastic or wooden handle
18 cleaning wipes - Handi-wipes or reusable wipes - no terry cleaning towels (remove from packaging)
7 sponges - remove from wrapper
5 scouring pads - remove from wrapper
50 clothespins - remove from packaging
clothesline - two 50 ft. or one 100 ft. cotton or plastic
24 roll heavy duty trash bags - remove from box
5 dust masks
2 pair disposable kitchen gloves - rubber or latex. remove from packaging
1 pair work gloves - cotton or leather
Assembling Directions: Place all liquid items in the bucket first. Place remaining items in the bucket, fitting them around and between the liquid items. Sponges, scouring pads, clothespins and trash bags can be separated in order to fit all of the items in the bucket. Ensure the lid is closed securely. Important Note: all items must be new except for the actual bucket and lid.
